Stimulators
Airflow, waves, or vibration: understand the differences between them, and which one to choose based on your sensitivity.
Pulsed Air, in Two Sentences
These devices don’t vibrate and barely make contact. They place a small tip over the clitoris and send rhythmic air pulses to it, without direct contact. That’s what makes them so different: the sensation remains intense without becoming numbing, and it doesn’t fade after a few minutes.
Which One Is Right for You
If you’re very sensitive, pulsed air is often more comfortable than strong vibration, precisely because it doesn’t rub. If, on the other hand, you prefer firm pressure, a classic vibrating stimulator will work better for you. Many recent models do both—a pulsating head on one side, a vibrating shaft on the other—and let you try them out without having to choose right away.
What Matters in Practice
Look at the number of intensity settings rather than the maximum power: it’s the precision of the lower settings that makes a device enjoyable, not its highest level. The silicone tip is often removable for cleaning, which makes a world of difference in daily use. The waterproof design allows for use in the bath and hassle-free rinsing. Finally, a drop of water-based lubricant under the tip significantly improves the sensation: the pulsating air works better on skin that doesn’t catch on it.
